Nokia Lumia 640 stuck on downloading speech language pack.

    Hi all

Nokia Lumia 640 stuck on downloading speech language pack.-win_20160408_22_13_04_pro.jpg

Since I'm from New Zealand Cortana is not available for my Lumia 640 which is running Windows 10 Mobile. So I switched my region to Australia which has a very similar language style and ran Cortana. It then asked me to switch the speech language to the one Cortana needed to have which was Australia. So I clicked on download for this, and it is still downloading. I think it was about 24 MB or something which means it shouldn't take more than about 10 minutes.

I tired downloading the Canada language to see if this would jump start it but no luck. I also tried turning the phone off and on, restarting it and trying to add another keyboard. Now I am stuck. I guess I am basically looking for a way to end this process (speech) or to reset it somehow so I can try re-downloading Australia. I previously had downloaded US language and this downloaded fine...

If you press and hold on the ones you want to delete, does it give a 'right-click' context menu to remove them?

No, I think it has slightly changed in Windows 10 Mobile. Instead you just click on it once and it gives you some options. No options for English (Australia) or English (Canada) unfortunately. I have also left my phone on overnight and still no luck...

Did you try holding the volume down and power buttons to restart your phone? This is the same as removing the battery.

Yes I did that, plus removing the battery. Really want to try everything before resetting my phone, as it is quite a pain...

Interestingly enough you have to go to the main "Phone update" screen to actually download the language pack. Well worked for me anyway :). Thanks for the support guys.

EDIT: When using phone update, an error keeps occuring... I guess I might just have to use US for Cortana... Not an issue right away but now having the problem of trying to delete these languag epack which I am unable to do...
