Computer tries to boot from CD-Rom before hard drive. A problem?

So, what would be my best course of action (if any)?

Do nothing or if it bothers you, set the DVD rdr at a lower boot priority.

Is the current state of affairs at all dangerous to my computer or operating system (even slightly)?

If not, I'll probably leave it be.

Nah, that's not at all dangerous. It only adds a couple of seconds to each boot.
