    Downloading Files

    Hello All,
I need to identify whether a problem exist in my computer or the credit unions software. I control three UTMA accounts and their monthly statements are available for viewing or downloading according to the credit union but when I click on the view button, I get an "Image Not Found" reply. But strangely, I can view the back page of the statement. Now this makes me think that the problem exist at the credit unions end.

I already been to the credit union to discuss the problem and they suggested to change browsers. I tried two different browsers and the problem still persists. I tried resetting the computer and that did not solve it.

So has anyone experience a similar problem and does it appear to be a fault with the credit unions software?

Hello rjordan393 Welcome to the Ten Forums!

The best advice anyone will give you on that problem is what you are already tried by bringing it to their attention. Changing browsers being advised and resetting your system certainly wasn't the solution but their way of diverting you away from the problem they don't want to look into! The source you should be talking with however would be with whoever maintains their servers!

To be fair to the credit union, we don't know what "I tried two different browsers and the problem still persists." entailed.

We also don't know if this is a first attempt at access, or if it has worked in the past and something changed recently.

    Thanks Both,
I think this problem started soon after I upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10 or its just a coincidence. I ignored it when it started. I'll see about contacting the server if my credit union cannot help. What I will do next is to make another visit to them and ask them to pull up one of the three accounts and check to see if they can view the monthly statement.
Then whatever happens will give me additional information to let the server know.
So far, the evidence points to a failure in their software because they have had problems with it in the past.

adding to this, trying two browsers and doing the exact same process could mean doing the same process, doing the same things and expecting different results.

Are you running anything in the background that may be blocking full access to their site. If it was a problem on their end I'm sure they would be swamped with complaints.

I have access to everything on the credit unions website except the front pages of the monthly statement. I will ask them how come I can view the opposite side of the statement which shows the terms and conditions , interest rate etc.

The problem is at their end where somehow your accounts are seeing the glitch effect. But they have to contact the person(s) responsible for maintaining things not you! It's their headache they have to content with. I doubt you have anything on your own system to worry about as far as that is concerned otherwise you would be running into more generalized problems.

A common refrain in browser troubleshooting is "Clear the cookies and flush the cache."

Might the cookies be legacy from W8.1? Thus, access to sensitive data is restricted due to incongruity with the upgraded OS. No expert. Just thinking out loud.

    Nighthawk,
You are correct and I was dealing with an inexperience clerk at the credit union. In a nutshell, here is what actually occurred:
According to the credit unions policy, account statements of minors are only sent out after the quarter. Some time ago, a clerk mistakenly made a change to make the statements available on a monthly basis and this can only occur if the minors had checking accounts which they do not. So this created a conflict with their software which ended up with me receiving notices that statements were available which was not the case. In some cases, I did view some months statements and at other months, I could not view them.

So a management clerk gave me a number to call to place the minors accounts that are on a monthly basis and transfer them back to quarterly basis.
I like the quarterly basis better as it is less work for me to file paper copies away and to store a backup copy on my computer.
