Alright that's good then, I'm active on the chat there now. When your ready hop on so I can link you to Teamviewer's downloads page. They apparently have made version 11 so even I had to update it. Don't worry it's not the kind of software you have to install, unless you choose that option.

Ok I see the staff have already taken care of my no no as far as posting a live link to a personal profile. I can understand why its against the forum's policy. I apologize for that, but it was the only way I could help the lady in any real way. Sometimes you just have to be able to speak to a person directly.

As for her problem it was resolved via the method I linked to back in the beginning of this post. It was an ownership issue related to the old Windows 7 data in the Windows.old directory. Taking ownership under the accounts user name and then going back and setting the file permission to allow full control for read, write and modify allowed us to get in the directory structure.

However upon checking, the files she was hoping to recover we're lost as far as I could see. The only remnants of them were several shortcut folders that pointed to the Desktop in the Windows.old directory. The info in there was not carried over as expected, but her other data in the more traditional locations was intact. I then proceeded to clean up the file system per her request, removing the bloatware and sorting out the folder structure which was in shambles after being updated. With elements of past updates, outdated software and random trash folders sitting directly on the C drive among other places.

I do hope this is a satisfactory answer for the community in general and again I apologize for having to post my contact info for Facebook, but it was the only way I could think of on the fly to actually help this particular person. It seems to have been removed but really I didn't mind if you left it there. People are free to add me on Facebook, and sending me messages there isn't any different than sending them on here in PM form. There's just no limit on message storage space. Now she can contact me whenever and ask questions directly to me.

    Is that really so bad?

I understand thanks for letting me know. I won't bother you folks anymore then if everyone's angry about it. What's been said has been said and I've apologized. I don't know what else to say about it.
