    disable web search

On the start menu I do not like that 10 is searching the web for results. I've found the entries in group policy as shown below but that doesn't work. How do I disable web search from the start menu.

    Hi,
    Yep group policy is useless
You might try opening task manager and killing it there,
My drive died so I never got to test that part
    Cheers.

    Hi,
I read that Bing desktop search should be listed :/
    Possibly in start up ?
    Cheers.

In group policy Select Administrative Templates>Windows Components>Search and then enable:

Do not allow web search and Don't search the web or display web results in search.

    disable web search-gp.png

See if that does the trick

Sorry, just re-read the OP and misread it, I though you were searching the registry not the Group Policy. Strange as I had success with the GP method

Alright, I take it back. Initially I wasn't getting web results, but also no results in my Start menu. Then I did a restart and everything is back to the way it was, web results and all. Hmm, strange, I'd imagine it will be possible in the final release, but it would be nice to have the option now. Perhaps it is one of the new strange services that have no descriptions such as dcpsvc? I haven't played with them yet so maybe I'll take a snapshot and experiment later

Yeah, Cortana more or less controls search on W10TP!
Either you have to uninstall it or put up with it!

I posted feedback in the Taskbar section because Cortana is not really inside the start menu
    Lots of capitals
