A reasonable review doesn't have to be against or for anything, just have to be clear and objective about what matters. The article in first post obviously is very biased. That's my opinion ! Just it !
    Everybody is biased.
It is a basic human trait.

You obviously don't know many hardcore Linux users.
Most of the ones I know, HATE Windows with a vengeance.
I know a few Linux users myself, and most of them dual boot Linux with Windows. One has even tried to convert me to the dual boot thing with Linux, but so far I've resisted. I think he still likes me. At least his wife does. :)

Biased is much too strong a word to use for everyone and your statement is a bit unfair, especially to the folks in these forums.

Bias is an inclination of temperament or outlook to present or hold a partial perspective, often accompanied by a refusal to consider the possible merits of alternative points of view.
Biased means one-sided, lacking a neutral viewpoint, not having an open mind. Bias can come in many forms . . .
I have seen very few people within these forums whose ideas or opinions meet either of the above criteria. Now, on the other paw, the statement below does meet the criteria:

Microsoft, heed my words carefully, I'm the smartest man alive, your business success hinges on this. Make it smart. Make it efficient. Not the way it is in this preview release.

There you go, the most detailed and honest Windows 10 review you will ever have read, and this is just a beginning.
This guy is so full of himself that he cannot be anything other than biased. :)

Media bias is the bias of journalists and news producers within the mass media, in the selection of which events and stories are reported and how they are covered. The term "media bias" implies a pervasive or widespread bias contravening standards of journalism
Please note that I said he's tech savvy, made some good points and that I agree with some of them; however, at the same time, he made some glaring errors.

The problem is not that he's biased. The problem is that he claims to NOT be biased, and then clearly shows his bias. The problem is that he claims to be "honest" about things he's clearly not honest about.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, and he's no different. So long as one doesn't try to parade them off as bias-free and factual when they aren't. I may disagree with people about their opinions, but that's a totally different argument than what was going on with this "review".

Would you please point out why my question is flawed? I wasn't arguing. Have you installed build 9926 with a local account only and if so could you use the start menu, Cortana and the notification area? If you were successful I'd like to know how you did it without registry hacks.
First, learn how to quote. You totally hosed the pooch on that.

Second, many people on this board have and do use Windows 10 with a local account. No, Cortana won't work, but you don't need Cortana to use Windows 10. I said your "argument is flawed", not that you are arguing (as in fighting). Perhaps you should consult a dictionary, because the word "argument" has several meanings, one of which is "a reason or set of reasons given with the aim of persuading others that an action or idea is right or wrong".

You absolutely do not need a Microsoft account to use Windows 10, so any argument that starts out with the basis of it being a requirement is flawed.

That doesn't make sense. The reason why some users switch to local account is so that they can completely shut Cortana, Bing , etc. down. I am one of them. Actually, you can disable Cortana even with a Microsoft account on. I also installed Classic Shell to have a start menu that I am comfortable with.

Yeah. I have always used a Microsoft account, for convenience. In the Tech Preview, I have Cortana turned off. I have disabled the search function on the taskbar and, using only the search function on the start menu, I have limited it to my computer. If I have a need to search the web, I use the facility in the Browser (using Google), not Bing)

In the end of the day everyone is allowed to have an opinion but when things are stated as facts they should be rooted in facts and not half truths. IMO, the author of the article(blog) in the OP is clearly just stirring the pot to get attention to his web site and he's not interested in providing an honest and fair review of Win10.

Why are you so angry to start name calling?

Are you of the opinion everyone should use a Microsoft account? Is Microsoft going to make their account logon a prerequisite to run Windows 10 after it is fully developed? They could save a lot of people a lot of time by stating what they're going to do. Do you know what the finished product will require?
