Can't see the poll (on Lumia 1520 right now) but to me Notification is better. I am sure most people looking for charms bar are using touchscreens.
I use a normal non-touchscreen monitor and personally, I like to be able to get right to my search and settings quickly. But, that's just me. The notifications just give you notifications, it doesn't have as much as the charms bar has.

    Just my opinion.

The only useful shortcut I use on Charms Bar is Settings. That's why Charms bar didn't matter to me. :) If you know your way around an OS, there's really no need to search. For anything outside my brain and PC, I only use Google search. :)

I am not certain I have seen any official comments from MS that the charms bar is actually permanently gone. AFAIK it's only been disabled in these early releases. It may still return in "tablet mode" for all we know.

I liked the Charms Bar far better than this thing they have now.
I like the Settings Menu better (from Windows 8/8.1) much better.

I believe their ultimate goal is to remove the Control Panel (from Windows 7) and replace it with this settings function, which I believe to far worse and not allowing near the control as before.

There is so little I like about Windows 10, thank goodness, I always have my Windows 7, 8,8.1 who needs 10?

Depends on the system being used

On a Desktop don't mind either way but would prefer it back
On a Tablet I would like it back as currently its a pain to use

I might change my mine with later builds, but so far touch/tablet interface is just a poorly though out desktop mode, charms was one of the best things in win 8 for tablets

For me at least I just found it both useless and something that got in my way. If MS were to bring it back I would want the capability to turn it off.

This is what they should have done at the start, IMO

    an option for

Do you want Charms Bar, Yes/No
Do you want horrible menu at top left of App, Yes/No

or have it based on Continuum

Charms if using Tablet mode, Menu in app if using non Tablet mode

And they should have the capability to do that for more than just that. Options is what I want with this new OS and not a one size fits all OS.

I don't see why the charms bar would be anywhere but on a touch screen device then you can swipe/ swipe until you get dizzy
Otherwise No for a desktop but then again an option as prior versions is that outlandish No.
Scattering setting never helped anyone find anything categories have always been considered the long way around the block to find stuff.
If the start menu search or cortana search can't work off keywords for local folders/ files and windows in general than the real problem is not a charms bar it's the search function which works flawlessly in 7

Never used it and as a multi monitor user I found it got in the way while dragging items between the monitors. I hope they fix that in Windows 10, it still has a slight issue but as long as you drag fast between them your ok.
