Here's another link you can try, maybe you tried one of these earlier and it has locked you into your situation:

Well I went through the process of turning it off and back on through regedit (changed the value data to a0600000, restarted, then changed the value data back to a0100000 and pinned a few things to the quick access and restarted again) , but the Quick Access menu still disappears after a restart...

    Any other tricks?

Can you confirm that the changes you made from the tutorial work at first and behave as you want? From what you are saying it seems that the process of restarting undoes the changes.

Sure. When I changed the value to a0600000 and restarted, the quick access option was not available in the file explorer (see below).

I went back in and changed the value back to a0100000 and restarted again and the quick access option is back (see below).

Then I pinned a few items to the quick access (see below).

I then restarted again to see if I could replicate the problem about the quick access disappearing when restarting and this is what I have (see below).

Ok, maybe we are getting somewhere! There is one more trick up my sleeve; the following tutorial may be a more reliable way of clearing the list and resetting it rather than deleting the automaticdestinations folder:

Alrighty, I performed all three options outlined in the link you provided but the quick access folders still disappeared upon a restart.

Well, I am sorry that this has wasted your time, I'm going to have a longer think about what might be going on. In the meantime I guess someone else will pop in and add their thoughts. It has to be something that a restart is undoing, does it also happen with a shutdown?

Yes, it also happens with a shut down. I turn my computer off most nights and when I come back the next morning, the quick access folders are gone.

You didn't waste my time. :) I really appreciate you trying to help! Thanks!

I came across this post about Quick Access disappearing and wondered there was ever a solution. I'm having the same issue and it is driving me bonkers. Only, it's not just when I restart, it's every few minutes!

Unfortunately no, there was never a resolution... In fact it has gotten worse as I'm in the same boat as you with the Quick Access disappearing every few minutes! Please let me know if you have more luck than me in finding a solution.
