How do you activate it in W10?
It's custom made, as per my previous post, though, it's not a preset like 'Address', 'Links', 'Touch Keyboard' and 'Desktop'.

    Well Lechnerus,

i do not know myself either. When i go to toolbars, quick launch does not show there, but it shows in File Explorer.

It resides in: "C:\Users\{yourmoniker}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch"
You add your own shortcuts then launch it as a 'New Toolbar' from the taskbar right click menu.
It's not a preset toolbar, you have to create it.

Jeff, we're comparing apples to oranges here. :)

When I sent you that link, I was sending Brink's instructions for the QuickLaunch toolbar, which is what I prefer, while you have the Quick Access bar.

The QuickLaunch bar just sits there and waits for me to choose one of the items stored there, but it seems you have to poke a button or two to get to your apps. Choices are good!

    So Wynona,

if i understand correct the QuickLaunch does the same as File Explorer right?

Anyway, it takes just one click to get there, but you also? right

Lots of programs have a Quick Access Bar (QAB) and it is one of the greatest feature. I dislike the ribbon and QAB allows me to quickly find the functions I use most for that pgm.

I'm not all that familiar with File Explorer in Windows 10, since I've been on this blasted Windows 8.1 computer trying to solve problems for the past week!

The main reason I use QuickLaunch is that I can pin files to it as well as apps. I can't do that with the Taskbar.

Say I have a folder named Accounting and within that folder are a number of sub folders and then more sub folders within those (yep, I do have that) folders, so I drill down three to four levels to get to the Letters folder with form letters I send out. One of those letters is a reminder that I haven't received payment for January. I pin that form letter to my QuickLaunch bar and when I need to send it out, I just click on it and Word opens with the form letter ready to be filled in.

That's the short reason; however, I have everything I use on a daily or weekly basis to QuickLaunch. It's there ready and waiting for me to grab what I need. Here's what it looks like.
