    Welcome Plantje to the Tenforums....

I see you still have your EXOPC, I remember you from the community forums back then, mine is still working and use it almost every day, It has evolved through 7, 8, 8.1 and now 10, I continue to use it till it dies before getting a new slate/tablet.

Have you checked out Emby it may help for your multimedia needs.

Haha! It's so cool to run into people like this again. To be honest: a year or two ago I bought a Asus Vivotab RT giving me everything I needed back then. The next step will most likely be a Microsoft Surface 3 with LTE. I really want to use it for note taking.

My EXOPC is currently our "bathroom" pc. This way we have music while in the shower, movies and live TV while in bath. We can access the internet while brushing teeth. Really useful!
My 3yo daughter has my WeTab running Windows 8.1 as well. She has her own account. Unfortunately a lot of games don't run on the Atom that is in the WeTab

I did check Emby, but wasn't too tempted. It is really a pity that Microsoft leaves WMC hanging like this!

Yes the Surface 3 will be my upgrade path....

Yes .. Emby is quite good for my use, or Plex. In Canada WMC is almost none usable for TV due to digital and no support from cable or satellite providers..

In the Netherlands unfortunately it is pretty hard to get WMC to work with Live TV as well. I don't know why content providers keep on fighting that battle!

I think for now I will continue to use WMC as long as possible and I hope they will enable it on Windows 10 as well. And, why not?

A bathroom PC? That doesn't sound too safe.

Actually it is not that unsafe at all. First of all: it is a tablet. So, everything that may end up near the bath tub is 14 Volt maximum. And currently the tablet itself is in a cupboard and the bluetooth speakers on top of the cupboard make sure we have music in the entire bathroom.
To have a small shelf or something like it in order to watch television while in the bath tub is a different project :)

I am aware of the demise of Mediacenter in the upcoming Windows 10 but right now I have it installed on different computers in my home (including 1 laptop). None of them will now update the guide? Is that something to do with Microsoft abandoning Mediacenter? One of my Windows 8.1 is strictly a DVR with 4 tuners. I wasn't planning on updating that computer for fear of loosing Mediacenter, but if they stop supporting tv guide updates, it will make no sense for me to keep it.

Is it just a fluck that I haven't been able to update the tv guide in Mediacenter? Or has support for that ceased already?

I'm one of those that are missing media center, it's by far the best program for my TV tuner, since updating to Windows 10 my tuner has pretty much become obsolete and I've had to survive watching streams which are pretty limited compared to my tuner.

I'd second that...apart from some rather distracting flying graphics its pretty awesome and doesn't steal system volume focus like media center which is a real bugbear for me...its a great piece of software and its free!
