    Start screen missing

over the past few days when I click the start icon nothing happens as I used to then get the Start screen...I read of a possible fix and it said to click on Start and then go to Settings and then go to Personalize and then go to Start and click on " Use Full Start Screen". when I click on the start icon and right click it, I have to go to Control Panel to go to Settings and one of the options is Personalize but there are three choices below it and one of them does not say go to " Start" and then click Use Full Screen. I don't know if this is related or not, but over the same period of time recently, I get an email that I receive every couple of days and there is a link in the email. When I click on the link over the past few days, nothing happens. Any advice would be appreciated. I have had Windows 10 for about three months and the PC is a Dell which is about three years old.

Hi elswood, welcome to Ten Forums. Try running the SFC command. It checks system file integrity and will attempt to fix any errors that are found. This is from the Tutorial Forum. SFC Command - Run in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums .

Next step is to run the DISM command, and if that completes successfully run the SFC command again. From the tutorial forum. DISM - Repair Windows 10 Image - Windows 10 Forums .
