Yeah, if you can't do a system restore, then do the repair install by doing an in-place upgrade. It's quite painless and should resolve the problem.

Thank you i will give all these ideas a try , thank you all for your time . One thing i did do was install classic shell and now everything i wish to do i can do , but id like to get back to standard so i will try all this stuff , Thank you again
