    Download of documents read

Hi; I am just getting started with W10 and am working my way through trying to understand how what I was used to in W7 can be seen in W10 (I bypassed W8).

My query might have nothing to do with W10 but, with Adobe Reader installed I am finding that all documents I read from a website are automatically downloaded to my computer. I have looked for settings in both W10 and Adobe but cannot find anything about automatic downloading. This did not happen in W7.

Does anyone know how to stop this automatic download?

    Thanks

    Alan

    Hi,
Welcome to the forums, open Adobe reader, click Edit, select Preferences, click Internet in the left pane, tick the box "Display in read mode by default". HTH.

Thanks brummyfan for quick and succinct response.

Following your steps I find that 'Display in read mode by default' is already ticked.

So I tried unchecking 'Allow speculative download in the background' in case this was the culprit; but it was not.

Is W10 involved in this at all?

You are welcome, I'm not sure about the involvement of Windows 10:)
EDIT: If that doesn't help, uninstall Adobe reader and try with Reader App

OK, thanks for that. Not sure that I like the Reader App but it does not download!

    Cheers
