[QUOTE=Scimitar;529686. I'm going to have to refer this issue to a local computer tech shop to find a remedy. .[/QUOTE]
Likely every 'wake' possibility will be examined in the advanced power plan. I did that; disabled every possible item and only left mouse, keyboard with a 'wake' possibility.
There appears to be a higher number of HP machines reporting this issue but mine is a custom build. Of course, there could be a higher number of HP machines sold but my 'unscientific' thought is that it is an operating system code within the Nov. upgrade which reacts to some machine configurations. It appears to be sleep, hibernation and power connected.
I'm just suggesting to not have 'high hopes' on the service checkup.
This was a suggestion in one of the many posts I poured through recently
'the power plan resets to an unknown default after every cumulative update.
Then, the computer will not shut down or it will shut down and restart instantly.
Solution create a new power plan.Restart, then default to original power plan,
Restart and it should shut down normally including a screensaver function. '
In this description I'm not clear on 'HOW' one does the 'default to original power plan.
....then there is the 'should' in the last line
