He's absolutely right. And just like what @Lady Fitzgerald said, Win 7 is not broken. In fact, it is still more stable than 10 now.

It's not about metro-phobia or anything. A lot of people invested on hardware and software that works smoothly with 7. Win 10 is a game changer. For one, AMD drivers don't work with it. I have 4 monitors and I have to rely on MS generic graphics driver just to run my 4 monitors. And that dragged down my graphics WEI to 3.9.

I am not gonna talk about software that people use with Win 7. You guys know what is the deal with that.

I will hold on to my 7 as long as I can. I have 2 other Win 8 machines to mess up with anyway.

So, if we have AMD stuff on our computers, then Windows 10 is not compatible? Does this mean we can't upgrade?

I would make sure I have the drivers from AMD first and go from there. The worst I think is when you upgrade the instillation will use the default drivers.

If you get the default drivers from MS then install the AMD drivers.

One those Amd systems if they are 64 bit. Here is something for you to try if you have a test AMD system and like tinkering and you don't mind getting rid of your data. Download the 32 bit install of Windows 10 preview using Windows 7 or 8.1 system. Write that to dvd. Now using the mini-partiton wizard dvd, delete all the partitions and create one primary partition. I choose align to MB. Then make sure that partition is activated before rebooting. After that is done, reboot press the key you would use to get into the bios. Remove DVD/CD the insert the Windows 10 32 bit DVD. Plug in your internet connection. Now, turn your computer back off and then on it should boot to the dvd and start installing windows 10 32 bit preview. Make sure you choose install updates while installing windows 10 that very important. Now see if you get better drivers from windows update.


Side note,
You might also be able to install some 16 bit old programs if you have any.
