Thanks for the thread and the link. I can't wait to see if the new build comes out today or tomorrow. I'll miss the briefing but that's not an issue just as long as I can check in here and get the new build soon.
How about next week, Jeff! This is really a bummer.

    Hi there

I just hope Ms has sufficient capacity on download servers if the release is available sometime soon.

One thing I noted, Jimbo, is that they said it'll be available "in the next week" so I'm expecting a gradual release to us.

They could actually use Bittorrent to spread the load and prevent servers from overloading. Bittorrent is perfectly viable for LEGIT software distribution too -- it doesn't only have to be used for downloading pirate movies etc. -- However I don't expect Ms to use the most obvious way of distributing the release quickly.
It would be a viable way, but Bit Torrent has already gotten the "piracy" label, so no way MS will touch it with a ten-foot pole. Too bad.

This time there will be more load than usual since I'm sure there were 1000's of us if not more who used to be able to get these sort of things from TechNet --now no more !!! sigh sigh !!.

    Cheers
    jimbo
Yep, a huge load and that's why I'm expecting a gradual release over the next week instead of "It's out there, go get it!" release.

I waited until today to watch after the fact. Doesn't look like I missed anything. :)

I thought I saw on the broadcast that this next Technical Preview would be in 23 languages. Anyone remember that part?

The problem is that it neither can be upgraded nor clean install - after the first restart a BSOD appears and it reverts back to Windows 8 error code 0x101-0x20017. Thanks for the tips anyway!
I have one of those, Werty. I formatted my drive and installed 32 bit and things worked fine. It's one of those changes Microsoft made midstream and which made our 64 bit computers ineligible for the update.

I will try formatting the HD as last resort - don't want to reinstall everything from scratch. I am waiting for the next preview of Windows 10 and try again hope this time works so there is no need to format the drive :)
