No, because, in simple terms, it's not Windows 7, and it's not for desktops.
    .....
You are correct, it is not Windows 7
You are incorrect, it is for Desktops

You might want to learn more about the Modern or Immersive GUI / Desktop GUI relationship before dismissing it - but that is your choice. I personally don't use many of the Modern apps and uninstalled most of them in favor of their desktop counterparts. I exclusively run Desktop applications.

I could care less about how a vendor presents their product, as long as I have some control over that presentation. Every Windows release has provided sufficient customization to suit my modest computing requirements - that of running applications. If I want to do further customization, I have to use 3rd party tools or tweaks - for the most part those tools only allow you to access and configure what MS has in place but didn't build into the setup or configuration GUI.

Win8 and Win10 are no exceptions.

If you're happy with Win7 ... sure stay on it. I'm not trying to sell anything here.
I was on Win98 for too long before moving to XP. Why? Because that worked for me and it met my needs.

Definitely will get Win 10 depending on the price. I do like it allot, irrespective of the small little bugs ... it works perfectly for me.

Other than that, there's no Aero Peek. That bothers me for reasons that I myself don't understand.
I generally despise the "modern" and "universal OS" philosophies. On a desktop, it's not called an App. M$ needs to understand that. On a desktop, we don't tap things. We click them. M$ needs to understand that, too.
I don't want a M$ account, nor XBOX integration. I don't own an XBOX and it's integration is wasting disk space, in my opinion. Much the same goes for Skype, I don't use it, I don't want it, but Microsoft puts it there. And it's full screen.

I think live tiles look dumb and don't need to bloat my start menu, I think that M$ needs to realize that Windows is not for tablets or smartphones. They make Windows 8.x/10 for tablets and scratch their head when desktop users stick to Windows 7.

    tl;dr
    It's not "app", its program.
Programs should not be full-screen unless I tell them to be.
Integration with other M$ products wastes space and annoys me.
Live tiles make for a large, ugly start menu.
    I miss Aero features.
M$ should stop trying to be apple.

IF that was too long to read, It's not a new and improved Windows 7. I think I'll use Windows 7 for the next decade and then Linux.

MS Windows = OPERATING SYSTEM ( What is Operating System (OS)? Webopedia ) is just that, not a collection of pretty or ugly pictures. In this case not something to tap or click on but to provide a base for software (programs, Apps, Applications, call them what you want) to work on it.

Actually, Windows 10 is a dual desktop/touch screen OS, in that you can either touch or click. Easily enough understood and configured. I haven't seen anything that tells me to touch anywhere on my Windows 10 desktop. By the same token, I haven't seen anything that tells me to click either. You just proceed as you wish in any instance.

I may be wrong, but I believe Hewlett Packard was first to come out with touch screen computers. Now we have all kinds of laptops, tablets, phones, desktops, etc. with touch screen. Further, some of those devices that originally came out as touch screen only now have keyboards and mice! These devices have Intel, Atom, Android, etc. processors.

I have an HP Slate 10 tablet and an RCA 10 tablet. I have a Logitech blue tooth keyboard that will work with three devices and a blue tooth mouse that can work with both.

Bottom line? If Microsoft doesn't keep up with the progress being made in the above areas, they lose market share. I just don't see Microsoft refusing to keep up. Nor do I see them creating a separate OS for each of the above features. It's just not feasible.

Although Aero Peek was kind of nice, I never depended on it. Neither did I miss it very much when I moved to Windows 8 (which I hated in the beginning).

I guess I have to agree with you here; I don't like the "modern" desktop either. And, app vs program means different things to me. An app, in my opinion, is lightweight and doesn't do much. A program is full fledged, fully thought out and does everything you need. The best comparison would be a table in Word vs a spreadsheet in Excel. Oh, and I would consider almost everything I see in the "store" to be an app. :) Most of it, in my not so humble opinion, is as worthless as the proverbial (fill in your own blank).

As far as tap vs click, I just do what comes naturally to the way I've always worked on my desktop.

So, use a local account. We do have a choice in the matter. Also, a Microsoft account is basically an email address. As a long-time beta tester of Microsoft product, I've just always had email through Hotmail, so a Microsoft "account" is no biggie to me. I also have a gMail (Google) account and a Thunderbird account (Mozilla). Can't see why a Microsoft account would be so evil. :) Neither do I have an Xbox, and I don't understand why my solitaire games have to be Xbox versions, but I haven't seen that Xbox takes up any space on my computer, since I don't see it anywhere.

I don't like the tiles either and once Windows 8.1 came out, I "did away with them" in favor of my regular desktop. However, I really don't see all that much difference between tiles (except for size) and the ten gazillion shortcut icons that almost everybody used on their desktops in Windows 7 and prior versions. I prefer a clean desktop and never used those shortcut icons on mine.

The only tiles I've seen on Windows 10 is when I open up the start menu. And those tiles can be sized from small to large . . . and although I've only added them, I think they can be eliminated if one chooses. Guess I'll have to try that . . . but then why bother; they don't take up all that much real estate on an otherwise blank screen.

Y'know, I think that will be the lasting beauty of Windows 10 . . . it can be configured pretty much how one wishes. For the most part, whatever I don't like can probably be eliminated. If I can't figure out how to do it, I'll just come here and ask my fellow gurus how to do it.

I'm sure I will buy a license but I will not build another computer.

I guess I will put my 2 cents In. It will most likely be no but I choose undecided, the main reason the fiasco with the operating system possibly causing hard drives to be bricked. That one of the main reason I stopped testing windows 10.

I haven't bricked any hard drives, but I sure have messed one up . . . it will probably have to be formatted eventually, but as long as it continues to work I'll leave it as dynamic, although that's not what it's supposed to be.

Edit: Oh, and I'll buy at least one copy of Windows 10 and probably three.

Had a weird popup message on an external data drive that I transferred some file with to 10 last install of the current version,
It did provoke a win-7 scan for errors popup that would be concerning if it were a main backup data drive but it had only 20 gig's of copied files on it that transferred well everything worked on 10 side afterwards,
So 10 did something to it,
I bailed on the scan thing and just randomly looked at the files on it they seemed okay to me but I formatted it anyway ?
Popup said it might happen disconnecting it improperly :/
Well I disconnected it after complete shut down so 10 did put some sort of hook on it
