    Error 10016

    How can I fix this: The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for
    the COM Server application with CLSID
    {D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}
    and APPID
    {9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}
    to the user NT AUTHORITY\LOCAL SERVICE SID (S-1-5-19) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC)
    running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security
    permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.,

    found the component tool but don't know what to do next, little help please, thanks.

    Go to regedit and search for the key {9CA88EE3-ACB7-47c8-AFC4-AB702511C276}. Change the ownership to yourself and then grant full access. Owner of Files and Folders - Change in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

    Next go to Control Panel > Administrative tools > Component Services > Computers > My computer > DCOM configuration > RuntimeBroker > Properties > Security tab. Edit "Launch and activation", add user "LOCAL SERVICE" and grant Local Launch and activation permissions.

    Error 10016-component-services.png

    If you can't change security as it is greyed out go back to regedit and check your permissions.

    I've changed permissions several times and still get grayed out box on the component services tool. I am the user and administrator and have set permissions for admin/me, just admin, and just me and none of these has worked. It does say that I am the owner with full rights. Need some more help, thanks

    Also when I click on the security tab at component tool I do not get the little prompt that you show here, mine has 3 separate edit areas and all are grayed out.

    If it is greyed out then most likely the registry is not updated properly. Try scanning for all instances of {D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160} and {9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276} and make sure that they are all owned by you (not TrustedInstaller) and that you have full permissions.

    On this one, add "Administrator" NOT "Administrators". Give full access. Choose option for child dependencies to inherit.
