    Boot speed

I have read lots of threads about people complaining they used to get boot times of 8 seconds before upgrading to win 10 and now it takes ages! like20 seconds!
Well I am having difficulty with this. Are they running supercomputers or what?
My old Win 7 system took about 70 secs or more to boot and now my win 10 takes about 50 seconds.
I have almost nothing loading at boot and I have got a pretty decent PC

    ASUSTeK SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 Rev 1.xx mobo
    4.00 gigahertz AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core CPU
    8GB memory
    KINGSTON SSD 250Gb C drive

How many other people get sub 15 second boots?
How do you time the boot anyway?
I would time it from pressing the ON switch to getting a usable desktop with all icons loaded. is that how every one times it?
Is there something wrong with my PC ?

The people getting very fast boots are using EFI systems, since you had a win 7 system you mostly likely are using a legacy BIOS. Still your times seem a bit slow. Check out this thread in the overclocking forum for restart times. What is your Windows 10 Restart Time? - Windows 10 Forums . It is another way to compare. BTW you can see your POST time using taskmanager, the startup tap has it on the top RH side.

Wow, that's a good tip about the boot time in task manager. I didn't know that. It gives us all something to compare all using the same measurement.

    Thank you
