@Op.. If you're trying to rip a CD to a PC then there is lots of good free software to get this job done. Here's a sit that has a few listed and they are good.

If the OP is trying to rip A CD, Windows Media Player can do it. Right click near the top (in the light blue) and select tools/options/Rip Music. Select the "Format" drop down and choose your format.
To get track/album info from the 'net, on the options/Library tab, select "retrieve additional info from the internet"/
"only add missing information".
Insert the CD and dismiss any autoplay options.
Start WMP, select unknown album on the left, and "rip music" above/center. I tried it out, and by the time the third
track was being ripped, the CD, picture and track names were filled in. The rip can be found in
c:\Users\user_id\Music\artist_name\album
You could never just copy music files from CD and just let play from other place. Old .cda files are not like that. Only if it's in other formats like . MP3 etc.
