After login my desktop can't do anything and need help?

Turn on my computer this morning and bam have this issue where it takes for ever to boot up to the account login and once I log on takes a bit to show the desktop but once it does nothing works can't right click, scroll over the start menu and the cursor changes to the loading emble forever can't click on shortcuts, can't open task manager, if I click on the start menu while it's doing the loading emble the screen with go black with just the cursor and then go back to desktop after 30 seconds ago but will still be unable to click anything.

I have tried system restore but all that ends up failing.
I made a second user account but all is the same.
I have tried unplugging the battery and all and nothing.

    Will love and suggestions
    thanks :)

Hi ByrneN, welcome to Ten Forums. Try running the SFC command. This is from the tutorial forum. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2...dows-10-a.html . Work through the steps in the tutorial. You might have to run the SFC command more than once. ( You can use the keyboard shortcut + X to get to the command prompt(Admin) ).

Well I tired and I can't open the command prompt while on the desktop, I literally can't do anything.
And now actually it shows the desktop for about 1 min and my shortcuts don't show up or anything then it will go to black screen with just the cursor and after 1 min back to the desktop but still can't do anything

Update: then the shortcuts I have appeared slowly one by one like the computer is loading at the slowest rate known to man kind..

If you were activated you could try to clean install (it will reactivate automatically, chouse skip when asked for a key during installation), or another option would be a repair install. These are from the tutorial forum. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1...n-install.html . Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade . You will need to make install media https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/9...-download.html . See if these can help[ you solve the problem.

    Thanks I'll look into that,

also so I just left my computer sitting there and it came up with a start menu and cortana not working critical error after awhile like it was trying to fix that explaining why my computer won't respond soooo I'm assuming Microsoft did some stupid shit update?

i mean my computer ran perfect before today... Is there anyway to disable the cortana feature without using the desktop? Like in boot command?

Cortana is built in, you can turn it off by clicking on search, the hamburger ,settings and the off switch. Much more than that will cause problems. One thing you should try is to get to a command prompt at boot. there are a number of ways to do that. If you can, run the SFC command. It will clean up system file corruption. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/2...dows-10-a.html .
