Other than the occasional bump in the road, Windows 10 is every bit as good as Windows 7 was at the same junction. I got in on the "dogfood" Windows 7 and didn't look back. And if I weren't so cautious, I'd do the same with Windows 10.
If this machine were one I built myself, I would already have Windows 10 installed on a new hard drive and have it in place. Since it's an HP and also UEFI instead of BIOS, I'll have to forego that pleasure. I have a machine sitting in the closet behind me, so I just may pull that thing out and install Windows 10 and Office 2013 on it.
