    Can't search without signing in?

I'm having problems using the search on windows 10 being on a local account. I don't want to be signed in, but it's forcing me to or I can't search or properly see the start menu. I guess it was dumb of me to click next on the search feature but I didn't think it would always ask me to sign in. Is there anyway to disable this?

I think that issue will be cleared up in the next update in November. You should be able to use a local account and do searches.

Hmmmm... it's not a problem on my local account. I'm using the upgrade build form 7/29/2015, not a insider build.

Search works fine for me on local account. Perhaps @BunnyJ was thinking of Cortana (which you can use only with MS account at present) rather than Search.

If you click on "next" for Cortana on a local account it will ask you to sign in to MS account. If you just cancel it doesn't ask again (for me anyway). @OP is it asking you repeatedly?

There is no cancel for me. Once I clicked next that was it, no escape. I also turned Cortana off but that didn't help.

    [EDIT]

I got it working. I signed into my account and then noticed another option with Cortana on and disabled it, then switched back to a local account and now I can use the search without being forced to sign in.
