    Windows 10 upgrade

    Hello

I have resisted the temptation to upgrade to Windows because I have issues with updated drivers version that I will get etc.

I would assume that the drivers update is happening as we speak.

I have a 64bit chipset but I am running a 32bit system (windows 7 pro). If I accept the insistence if MS to "give" me windows 10 will I receive the 64bit version? Has anybody had or is having the same concern?

    Thanks for any assistance

32 bit. The only way to get 64 bit is to clean install, either before the upgrade or after (if you want to go 64 bit that is).

To amplify post #2 a little: to use the free upgrade, you have to install it as an upgrade over a qualifying OS.

After you have done that once, you can clean install 10 and it will activate online.

That is supposed to include a clean install of the different "bitness". As Stormy 13 posted, you must do a clean install to go from 32 to 64 bit. A direct upgrade is not permitted.
