Don't think so, I can resize the tiles, but get the no entry sign if dragging to the start menu.

Have you tried right click on what you want and it should come up
    Pin To Start,
    Pin To Taskbar,
    Uninstall.
All I did was at first pin to taskbar.
Then done pin to start and then resized them.

    Try this
    Open up the Action Centre
    Enable tablet mode
Try and Pin anything to the start menu (hopefully it works)
    Open Action Centre
    Turn off tablet mode

    Now try again

I have seen it before where going into tablet mode, doing something, then coming out fixes issues with the menu

Yes, that all works, what doesn't work is moving the apps to the left side, as shown in the OP first post. Not to have the pinning on the tiles, to have it in the start menu where "most used" is on the OP first pictures. That gives the no entry sign.

Like win7, vista, xp, NT, 98, 95...... to click start and have the apps you want listed right away, ready to click. Not to have to search through tiles or list of all apps.

You cannot put items on the left hand side, the systems puts things there, this is not a bug, its by design

The only place you can put your own is on the right hand side

So, how do I get the "most used" features, if using the right hand side, like recent docs. Or how to fix the "design" to actually list the programs I use most.

    (sorry for the hijack)

Most used will eventually get populated, mine took a couple of weeks before it started showing items, prior to that it was a generic list
also, if you have any pinned to right hand side, they will not show in most used (not sure if this is by design or bug)

So there's no option to have recent docs directly from the start if the program is pinned to the start menu now?
That seems like a step backward

The app does not appear in the most recent apps list if it is pinned to start (for me anyway), if an app does get pinned as most used, then you get a dropdown that functions the same a right clicking on the item in the taskbar (eg I have IE as my most used and it has a dropdown of my recent visited sites)

Explorer shows recent items, but doesn't seem to show documents, might be a setting for this, need to look more into it

Just playing around with it, the tool tip calls it a "jump list", for word and acrobat then it's a list of recent docs opened.

It is a cool shortcut feature, IE jump list shows recent site, new window or tab. Live mail has new email, contacts, events.

Someone has gone to the trouble of making these jump lists, be a shame if they didn't get used properly.
