exactly, we are not talking about the stupid ms email account, it is the stupid admin account in MS Win10. al the account password crap is nonsense,,, if you have a home computer and you don't need passwords stop forcing them on us!!!

that is what is pissing us all off! IMHO

When the login screen comes up, it has my email address and on the box underneath is where I put my password. I do that and it doesn't work. I have spent many hours with the help desk of Microsoft and they tell me there is no way they can prove ownership of this email. I downloaded windows 10 from Microsoft and I set up an account with Microsoft but because I didn't utilize outlook email program they can't verify my email address. Craziest thing I ever heard of. So now they tell me the only way to fix this is to lose all my software By consenting them to download program on my computer. I can't get into the computer to delete windows 10 if I wanted to. Thanks for trying to,help me.

You have to set that up, but it is possible: Sign in User Account Automatically at Windows 10 Startup - Windows 10 Forums

You could do a clean install to fix it in the meantime: Windows 10 - Clean Install - Windows 10 Forums

You can log in with a local account if you want. Your not forced to use a Microsoft Account. The Store and some Store Apps won't work but its doable. The standard login is to your Microsoft Account, not the main Admin Account. The main admin Account is hidden. If your account is the only one setup it will have admin privileges but it is not the main admin account. Please do not lump us "all" into your one group. I have no problem using passwords on my PC's. My desktop PC is set to autologon with my password and I use a PIN on my laptop. No muss no fuss.

Well I don't know What took place but I tried sending more info to Microsoft and they rejected saying I had tried to many times. Adttempted to log in....now mind you, I had done this at least 30 times, and guess what......windows came up!!!!! Go figure. Problem is if I were to log off I don't know what will happen. So I won't, but if the power surges I guess I'll find out. Meanwhile I am changing my password and praying this won't happen again. I started to cancel my account but I am afraid it will screw things up more. Thanks to all of you for your input. Hope I won't be back on this!!!!!! Enjoy life

After many many attempts, it just "worked"' I don't know why!!! First thing I did was change my password! Then I used this method to eliminate the sign in screen.

However, now in the middle of whatever I am doing I am being asked for verification and they send me a security code via phone to put in. I don't know how to get around that. Wonder if I could just cancel my account without screwing things up????

Immediately create a new, local administrator level account so you can use that if you run into a similar problem in the future.

That's normal, It's the verify your identity check. I do mine via e-mail. How it's done is setup in your Microsoft ID account. You should be able to just have the code sent to the e-mail address you used for your Microsoft ID. When the prompt comes up again click the drop down arrow and change it from phone notification to e-mail notification.

Must they do that every time I use the computer...it is annoying. I am ready to cancel the account...had no idea what I was getting into when I created it, thought it would be a good, thing but NOT. It is my computer and no one uses it but me. I realiZe "security etc" but this is overkill.
