    Customize the Notification Area Icons

    Hi !

In Windows 7 there was a pannel to customize which icons you want to show or hide in the Notification Area.
Like this :Customize the Notification Area Icons-2015_10_07_19_03_371.png

Does this pannel got deleted in Windows 10 ? If yes, is there a solution to hide/show icons from the notification area ?
The options available in the Parameters menu don't let you hide an icon, it just put it under the arrow icon.

If someone knows a solution i would appreciate it.

Hello Dahi, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

This has moved to Settings. The tutorial below can help show you how to show or hide notification icons now.

They've actually given more preferences for notifications, as there is also that new Notifications icon in the tray. I always like to show all of the desktop processes running, the Tile apps will send a notification into the new Notifications Bubble. In fact, you can now control how each app including desktop apps deliver notifications (or not). I think it's one of the better improvements of Windows 10.

    Brink,
Thank you for moving my post. I saw this tutorial but those options doesn't let you delete whatever icons you want to hide from the Notification Area Icons, it just put them under an arrow icon which i doesn't like. I wish there was still the pannel that allow you to show all the processes running and hide icons that you don't want to be there.

    XweAponX,
Yes i agree that notifications by themselves can be well managed and customized. But like you, i like to show every processes running in the notifications area (so i don't want the arrow icon that groups some icons) but in Windows 7 (and apparently even in Windows 8) you had the option to hide whatever icons so you could customize this area how you wanted it to be.

    Dahi,

I'm not aware of an easy way to remove any notification icon you like instead of hiding it.

If the notification icon is for a 3rd party program, then you might check that program's settings to see if it may have a setting to remove the notification icon.

If you have an icon still showing for an old uninstalled program, then resetting the notification area will remove those.

Allright, thank you for the attention !

I wish Windows 10 was fully customizable...
I guess there is currently no way to do what im trying to do. I was hoping something could be usable in Regedit or something but i'll find another way !

    Thanks for the help.
