    Recent Files do not show

In Windows explorer with W10 when i first had the RTM version Recent files were there, but as that os had been from Win 8.1 upgraded to 10 preview and then 10 RTM it was bloated. So i reinstalled a fresh copy of W10.
But now no recent files show up. I found how to go to view, folder options, but these settings were already ticked by default.
    Is this a bug?

Have you looked at File Explorer Options, General, 'Open File Explorer to' and towards the bottom, 'Show recently used files in Quick Access'?

Have you changed the location explorer opens at? (A screen shot is worth a thousand posts).
File, Change Folder & Search Options, General, 'Open File Explorer To' & in drop down click 'Quick Access'.

    Go to
    Code:
    c:\Users\"account name"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
    and
    Code:
    c:\Users\"account name"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations
and clean out those two directories.

Yes this was the fix, very bizarre problem as it was a clean reinstall.

    Not Solved

Windows 10 and Office 2007. Was working fine and then suddenly recent files were not showing for Excel (pined to taskbar). Word is OK. Tried all the suggestions I could find, including Brink's bat files. Recent Files do not show-jump-list.jpg

When I go to the folder ...AutomaticDestinations there are 2 files (see jpg) that I can't delete, but I don't get an error message when I try to do so. Tried the take Ownership fix to no avail. Ideas please.

Update - I was able to delete the files via the cmd window. But, still can't get a jump list for Excel (Word is fine).

Another update - SOLVED! I dragged an an icon to the Taskbar and choose Pin to Excel. After that the jump list started working. :)
