I have not had sleep problems with windows prior to 10041. Now, I am having problems with auto sleep or even if I manually sleep the computer, it wakes up almost immediately! This is on my desktop. No problems with sleep function on my laptop.
I was having the same problem on build 10041. What fixed it for me was that my network card was set to allow it to wake up the computer and the allow computer to turn off device was unchecked. I reversed the setting and I have not had a problem since.
I fixed my thrice damned "no sleep" issue that I have been having since 8.1. And it was entirely MY FAULT. I still run gadgets. One is written by a guy in Ukraine for the weather, nice app too. Unfortunately, it would go to to the web every 5 minutes to update the weather. That would reset my timer so my computer never would sleep. Badly written gadget was all that I ever had. I deleted the gadget and now the computer sleeps all the time.
Hi all! I'm just checking in with everyone on this issue. I, along with so many of you, suffered through the sleep issues that we had on Windows 8.1. I had to bow out of our troubleshooting efforts in mid-April 2014 due to some unexpected and abrupt circumstances in life. However, now life is back on track and I'm hopping on the Windows 10 train. I've spent several days reading through all of what you guys dealt with on Windows 8.1 between April 2014 (when I left) and October of 2015 (when many of you migrated over to Windows 10 Technical Preview). And, I've now read through all of these posts on the Windows 10 Forum.
It seems like this thread died almost a year ago and I just wanted to check in with all of you and see if the sleep issue has finally been resolved or if you are still having this issue on your Windows 10 computers. Thank you for all of your help!
