Screensaver delay time resets to 1 on boot

After converting from Windows 7 to 10 the screensaver delay time resets to 1 every time I boot the system.
This prevents the screensaver from activating. I set the time and press apply and then works all day until
I sign off at night and re-boot (power up) in the morning. I did not have this problem with Windows 7.

Welcome Joan to TenForums I havenot ran a screensaver in a long time. I did do a google search and found that some have had this problem and the one that fixed it in one of the threads was in a thing called gpedit. If you would like to try this here is what it looks like.
Start/Search and type gpedit.msc, Right click the gpedit results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Group Policy Editor, on the Left Panel, go to User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Control Panel/Personalization/Enable Screen SaverEnable the Policy.
About like messing with registry don't do it if your not sure what your doing :)

    Screensaver vs Monitor Off

Thanks for the suggestion, but I use the screensaver as a slide show with the Cozi app. I have
thousands of pictures to scroll through. So I would really like Microsoft to fix their bug.....or tell
me how to prevent it from happening. I've called the support number but they want $100 to fix
    their problem.....

Joan. So the screen saver needs to be set to what to come on? Seams like if its your scrolling pictures you would want it to come on at 1. Just wondering does the Cozi app show up on this list?

could be the Cozi causing the issue , di you uninstall the app and reinstall it to see if it makes a difference ,, a lot of 3rd party app are causing issues with win10 because THEY are not ready for win10 yet

    Tried all options....

Yes, Cozi is on the screensaver list. It will not operate on the 1 minute delay setting. Nothing will. I had an even
worse problem when I first tried to use my picture file directly. The system couldn't even find it as when the time
out occurred the screen went black, even though it operated on preview....

I tested my 10532 build by setting to 3 min and it all worked as expected, including still being on 3 min after a couple of reboots.

Not really helpful to you, I know, but at least this is not a universal problem.

    Edit
Tried it on a 10240 system. No problem there, either.

But I don't have a cozi on my saver list so perhaps it is a theme thing? I used 'Bubbles' as a test and this worked fine on both systems.

I have this problem also. I am not running any 3rd party software, just running slideshow with some pics. Set the time to 10 mins and its ok. Start up computer next day and timer is reset back to 1 min. I just used the fix that was posted. I will post back in a couple of days when I find out if this works.
