Play ripped dvd's on Windows 10 Pro

I hope this is the best place to post my question. My computer operating system is Windows 10 pro. I will be purchasing a used Dell T3420 computer running Windows 10 Pro. It will have an i9 processor with 32 gigs of memory.
I have many files filled with ripped dvd's. I have a computer running Windows 7 pro. The Windows 7 Media Center can play ripped dvd's very well. I want to replace this Windows 7 computer with the Dell T3420.
I am trying to find a program or utility to play ripped dvd's. I have searched for information on how to get Media player to play ripped dvd's. Every site tells me how to rip the physical dvd into a file structure which Media Player can use. I do not have the physical dvd's anymore. I have folders filled with dvd files.

Q1: what program can play ripped dvd's?
Q2. If this question should be posted elsewhere please tell me into what forum I should put this question.
    Thank you for your help.

    Another question

pepanee: Thank you for your quick answer. Media Center classic looks like exactly what I need.
I assume you have a media center computer. What program do you use to record tv programs ?

    You're welcome.
I actually don't have a computer for media expertise; I just use that program to watch videos that I download from the internet and stuff.
I don't record any videos using the computer though. Maybe someone else has input on that.

3rd party multimedia software is quite common and performs many of the tasks where that built-in Windows programs fail

My theory is that because these 3rd party programs are available, Microsoft has not applied the diligence in maintaining and updating their own multimedia software to match changes in technology of multimedia files

You can also download VLC Player which plays just about any Media Files, including DVD files without having to download any Codecs.

Whilst some people have reported managing to get WMC working in Windows 10, it is not guaranteed & not 'supported'.
I kept these links to discussions of the subject.

WMP in Windows 10-11 cannot play DVDs or ripped DVDs. That capability was deliberately removed from the Windows 10-11 version of WMP. I think MS said at the time that it was to avoid paying licences for the capability.
I have never seen any method of installing the old Windows 7 version of WMP in Windows 10-11 but methods might exist for all I know.

    I use DVBViewer Pro to
    - play ripped DVDs [I run the VIDEO_TS.IFO file that is within each ripped DVD's folders]
    - record from my USB TV tuners
I think it's an excellent application.
My current TV tuners are Hauppauge but I also used this software successfully with other brands of tuners in the past.
I tried Hauppauge's own WinTV software but thought it was not very good at all. I didn't keep any notes and all I can recall is thinking it was awkward.

My computers are just computers and are not described as media centres. I don't think that term had any particular meaning.

I do not know of any chnage to the file structure that would enable WMP to play DVDs or ripped DVDs. I think the files have to be converted into other formats.
I have converted several ripped DVDs into .ts files using VideoReDo and I can then play the .ts files using WMP.
But converting them is quite a time-consuming task.
My DVDs are in a box in the loft. I only ripped DVDs that I owned.

When I ripped DVDs***, the folder structure of the rip matched that on the original DVDs - a few control files & many VOB files in a weird folder structure.
[*** It was only acceptable to do so here for a quite limited period a few years ago]

    All the best,
    Denis
