Moving Documents Folder - After OneDrive
Two issues, I provide the first for context.
The client enabled Onedrive and then in trying to disable may have made things worst. C:\ drive and D:\ drive mess up badly.
I assumed not a big issue, paid for Macrium backing it up both on different schedules to a NAS
For the life of me I can't get the restored C: to boot. It appears to start, the swirling dots start and the it just stops... mid dot. Even tried installing Windows clean, new media, and then restored only the C: partition, no luck.
So clean install Windows again to C:\ from media created two hours before. Success, it boots.
So then I restored data to d:\ drive.
Now when c:\was installed it created a ONEDRIVE directory with quite a pick of structure (libraries and empty subfolders.).
Now I want Windows to point documents, and some other libraries, on D:\. As per Brink's tutorial I disabled OneDrive. (Exited) Following tutorial I right clicked documents library under onedrive, clicked the location tab and proceeded to move follow tutorial. (Navigate to D:, select folder,) answered yes ( also tried no) to question to move files and clicked "Apply"
Immediately get error message titled "The folder can't be moved here." The full error message is "Can't move the folder because there is a folder in the same location that can't be redirected. Access denied"
Tried a blank drive - same message.
On one of the first panels when you go to move a location is reset to default. Click that and it removes OneDrive from the path name so it is just c:\users\client\Documents. Click apply same error message.
So I'm stuck in that I cant restore C:\ and if I use fresh C: I can't move libraries.
I've never had Macrium fail me and tried older backups. So Macrium aside can someone help me redirect the libraries to D:\
Macrium is up to date and Windows was created from fresh media.
Thank you
