When Microsoft has an software update my laptop locks & no mouse.

Why when Microsoft up dates their software my laptop locks up and mouse stops working, this is on a new laptop that came with Windows 11, if i remove Win.11 and restore Win 10 my warrenty is nolonger valid.

After the update the laptop again is fairly normal, not the way i would call really normal, Windows 10 was a much better product then the new Win 11 but Microsoft wanted to force everyone into buying their new updated programs.

I understand this i am just making the comment that Microsoft is the problem, and Microsoft knows this but Microsoft cares less.
Time and tme i have tried calling Microsoft if you ever do get a real human to talk to they try finding someone to help or just answer a question, you end up on hold like i was again this morning after 30 minutes hear there music and getting told by a AI voice to visit their web page i again gave up and hung up.
You in United States use this Microsoft number and try getting anything from anyone 800-642-7676 and good luck.

IMHO, stay on Windows 11. You are asking for more trouble than it is worth.

My W11 laptop (W11 since Dec 2021) does something similar. Make sure you have your "Active Hours" set so that it fits with your schedule. While my laptop doesn't completely shut down, and the mouse doesn't stop working, things get slow during the download and install of an update. But I have control of when the update is downloaded/installed, so I usually just wait for a convenient time. Like when I am taking a nap, which gets more often as you get older. I have a update waiting right now (KB5036980). Must be time for a nap.

I also have a Windows 10 desktop. I leave it on and connected 24/7. So it usually does all of it's updating, outside of my "Active Hours" setting. I just come back to a login screen, when I power the remote mouse and keyboard. However, I wish it was updatable to Windows 11. Maybe one day I will try one of the workarounds and put it on Windows 11 or just buy a new PC that supports Windows 11.

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply and giving the direction you have taken, understand the nap needed as i am 85 and things are not as easy to deal with today.
I also have older computers one with Win 7 and anotgher with Win 10, bot are IMHO better OS's them Win 11, sisne i had a problem with Microsoft when i wanted my $70 back after trying their Office 365 and it's new Word, i hated it and within the 30 days tried calling them ever try calling them it took a lot of time and then they told me i missed my 30 days for a refund.
Regardless because of my new MSI laptops warranty i can't remove Win 11 so am stuck with it.
