    Not Sleeping when Laptop using External Monitor


    Hi

    I have been using a Thinkpad that sleep and hibernate properly for past few years.
    I recently acquired a VGA monitor, USB-wireless keyboard, and USB-wired mouse.
    After using this monitor, keyboard, and mouse for past few days, I realized that my Thinkpad will not sleep or hibernate when the monitor, keyboard, mouse are plugged in. Also, the monitor will not power safe.

    I checked the Power Options Settings, and they look right. Screen off is set to 10 min, and sleep is set to 20 min.

    Any ideas?

    Unplug the USB receiver for the keyboard and use the laptop's own keyboard.
    Do the power mode settings now work as normal?
