I tried install paint Shop Pro 9 on a new laptop and it hung.
Now I can't remove it. I'm told the files are "in use" but there's nothing in Task Manager.
If I try to install it again, it says I have to complete the previous install, but there's no way to do that.
I don;t seem to ab able to get to safe mode either, to try and delete them. The laptop just starts on the desktop.
Is there anything I can do to not have it "in use" and /or remove it all ?
Where did you get the copy of PSP 9?
Does it show up in Control Panel > Programs & Features?
Do you use REVO Uninstaller?
There is a program called EMCO UnLock IT (free), you can use this to unlock whatever is holding PSP 9
UnLock IT Free - Unlock a File or Folder Locked by the System
It was on a USB stick.No it doesn't show up in Programs & Features.
I don't want to install it now, just get rid of it if possible.

Paint Shop Pro 4.12 and 7.04 and 8.1 and 9.01
Get whichever version you like and also download the install directions, I included.
I recommend PSP 7.04 Anniversary Edition.
Just follow the directions for whichever version you choose.
I've tested these on Windows 7, 10 and 11. They work flawlessly.
