Running 64 bit windows but only downloading 32 bit apps? Help

I just got this new ASUS UX303LA 2 days ago and everything has been working perfectly on it except for that whenever I try to download an application (whether it be utorrent, VLC, AVG, Evernote, etc.) it always downloads the 32 bit version. For no reason. Also, on almost every application I open up, the text or buttons are TINY. I don't know whether or not this has to do with them being 32 bit applications but I don't know how to change it.
If anyone knows how to fix this, or how lock my computer into only being able to download 64 bit apps that would be very helpful.
    Thanks in advance

The majority of applications will be 32 bit apps, the main reason you have a 64 bit OS is because of the RAM installed, A 32 bit OS will only see 4 GB of RAM, you need a 64 bit OS to see more RAM
There are 64 bit apps out there like Photoshop and other Graphics design software that required a lot of RAM to function correctly. There is no issue installing 32 bit apps on a 64 bit OS
Text and buttons been tiny are most likely due to the screen resolution!

When downloading programs you will often have to explicitly select the 64 bit version if one is available. Don't expect that you will get the 64 bit version just because your OS is 64 bit. Many programs will be available only in 32 bit.
