    Do not think so, but:
do you have your black selection screen?
can you boot from that into both OS?
    What is the problem now?
    Black screen, yes.
Tried booting into Win XP and ended up with errors in drive. Shut down and booted into Windows 10. It did a chkdsk as well, fixed errors, then restarted and booted into the menu selection, and then went to Window 10 (default)

I'm in Windows 10 now. Things are working. I used EaseUS Partition Manager to look at the disc and do a file check. It uses Windows file checker and found no issues any any of my drives or partitions.

Little apprehensive to try to boot into XP again. I could use the EaseUS Partition Manger to fix the boot loader for Windows XP, but then it may just boot, or try to boot, straight into Windows XP.

What I did many years ago:
black selection screen with OS1 and OS2. In OS1 I removed the drive letters of the OS2 partitions and vice versa. There is a common partition or HDD with only documents, available to both OS.. I think I also installed easyBCD on OS2, with the same settings. I would try to repair issues with XP using XP and not using W10.

Rebooted the desktop just now. Opted for Windows XP when the 2 choices popped up. Computer shut down to BIOS and started up again, as usual. Saw Windows XP logo, then a bit of a wait and saw Windows XP small center icon, and it did put the OS info in the bottom right screen with Windows XP SP3 and version number, etc like I have seen before.
Then it went back to the Windows XP blue screen small logo and just sits there and you seen an occasional flicker.

Could it be that XP does not quite know how to work with the new Crucial SSD hard drive? It seems to be able to boot into XP to just a certain point. This is a new Crucial 1TB SSD hard drive in place of a SATA 1 TB Hard drive (mechanical).

If it is a driver issue I might be able to put the correct SSD Driver into the XP drivers folder, but not sure I would know what driver it would need.

    So, not solved yet.

On internet there are several refs how to install xp on an SSD. An example in german language is:
Windows XP und die SSD – Romans Blog
Maybe the best solution is to have an extra SSD built in your desktop which is then optimized for xp.

Thanks @PiKo that got me looking at what you said. I found this link: How To Install Windows XP On An SSD | Daves Computer Tips that talks about installing XP on an SSD and it appears that XP does not work well with GPT, but only MBR. That may be an issue as the SSD is partitioned into 3 basic partitions, C which is Window 10, another partition named D: and F: which hold Windows XP SP3.
E: is a whole different SATA hard drive.

It is almost like it tries to book into XP but only gets so far before a lot of "hanging" takes place.
I don't want to wipe the F: Windows XP partition clean to try to install XP all over again, since I do have installed programs in there that are specific to XP.

Maybe it would Boot with the old SATA Hard drive into XP, but not sure of what drivers or other I would need to do to fix the issue of booting into XP with the necessary drivers. Copying over some drivers from Windows10 to XP did not work... such as just a few that end with .sys into the driver folder.

Highly recommended, at least for Windows-only multiboot. No experience with "mixed marriage" Windows and Linux multiboot. (Comments welcome.)

And the price is certainly right.
