That would be me! Thankfully I asked in the forum before I went to extremes. And Paul Salter very kindly pointed me back to Windows Update.

W10 b9860 doesn't consider downloading updates to be "Activity".

I started downloading the new preview and then I went and watched the TV.

My Sleep setting was set to 30 minutes.
After that time had passed, W10 turned itself off even though it hadn't finished downloading the update.
As long as I've been downloading in Windows, sleep has interfered with downloads. Long ago I learned to go into the Power settings and tell it to never sleep. Then I had to remember to turn sleep back on when I finished.

+1. I've told this too many times I guess, but I can still feel the frustration. When I brought home my Vista machine I got most of the crud off and decided it's time to defrag. I started MyDefrag running. Without telling anyone MS added defrag.exe to the task scheduler to trigger on Idle. Same deal. Even though the disk was being defragged it did not detect the activity, assumed my system was idle since CPU usage was low, and kicked off defrag.exe.

Fortunately the only side effect was MyDefrag crashed. It didn't scramble my drive. But until they add disk activity to the idle detection I won't use Task Scheduler.

Edit: Even on my Laptop I use High Performance profile with never sleep on everything. Only time I use Sleep is when I shut Windows down(and it just sleeps instead of the real shutdown.)

On my Real W7 install, I have Sleep set to "Never".
When I want it to go to Sleep, I trigger it manually.

My VMs are generally using the default install settings.

Normally it doesn't take 30+ minutes to download updates. :)

Has anyone here experienced an issue with the keyboard lights for number lock and caps lock? They flash during boot, but will not light up after desktop appears...it's an HP multimedia keyboard from XP times, yet no problem in 7 or 8...the functions work, just the lights not showing.

    Anybody having problems with Facebook?

I cannot post any comments, or replies, to posts. When I type, the first part of the sentence disappears, and then reappears, in the middle of the next sentence. Everything is mixed up.

This has been happening for the last few days, on 9860, and it is still happening in the new build that has just come down. It is specific to Facebook, it's not happening on G+, or any other forums, such as this one.

So, I initially thought it was a keyboard input problem, but why only Facebook?

Anyone else experiencing this, or have any idea about why it should be?

I have the same issue with my Laptop and Desktop however for those using Logitech Setpoint software and if your keybooard supports it than an on-screen display notification can be enabled when pressing the CAPS Lock or NUM Lock keys.

Further to my previous post, regarding a Facebook input problem. That was occurring on Chrome, and Chrome Canary.

On Firefox, and Palemoon, I cannot log in to several sites, Gmail, G+, Facebook. I receive a message saying that this may be because I am blocking cookies.
I've checked the settings, and I am accepting cookies (?)

Once again this has been happening for a few days, before, and after installing the new build.
