I just delete Synaptics folder, because even when disabled, it is still running.

If you delete / uninstall the Synaptics driver, the touchpad cannot be disabled. It is of course natural that the driver must be enabled and Synaptics process running in order to use its features, one of them being the "Disable touchpad".

I had the same problem on my Toshiba Satellite Laptop. Disable of Touchpad when mouse detected isn't a good option for me since if I should shut down with the USB mouse plugged in, the next logon it will think the mouse is there and I'll have no Touchpad. For some reason though, pressing F9 stops the cursor jitters.

Well, the touchpad is not working, eventhough the driver is installed, so that it is like disabled for me.

Not a bug per se, but when I type, my palms automatically brush the Synaptic mouse and my cursor jumps all over the place. In Windows 8.1, I could tell the Synaptic mouse to disable itself when it detected a real mouse, but not in Windows 10.

So, I have to type in what is a not very natural position for my hands.

Anyone know of a workaround for this issue?
I may have found an option for you, but Brink or one of the other more advanced members should be able to tell you. Go here and make 2 shortcuts (one for each option:

    @ Cliff S and Kari:

I have been all over the Device Manager and have looked everywhere I can think of. I even did a search of "my stuff" and nothing even remotely like Synaptics or Touchpad showed up for me. I was shown web stuff only.

    @ Wynona :

Do you have "Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows." check-marked?
If not, try it and check for updates again.

Nope. Last time I checked it strange things happened, so I didn't bother to check it for 9926. I'll try that.

Edit: Nope, didn't find any new updates.

Wynona I said before when I tried to install Synaptics after installing 10TP I got BSODs(with the Win7 to 10TP method it worked), but if the option that I gave in post#795 doesn't work or you don't want to go with it, here is the Synaptics download site: http://www.synaptics.com/en/drivers.php#info_content

Check the Control Panel > Programs and Features, if the driver is installed it shows there.
