Hello all. I am trying to belatedly work out what was in an unexpected Microsoft message that appeared after I clicked “Skip for now” on a blue Microsoft screen at startup. I sped through this post-“Skip-for now” message too quickly, and I am hoping someone here may have encountered something similar.

To recount the story in chronological order: the initial blue Microsoft prompt screen appeared after I logged into a local Windows account on Windows 10 Pro, version 22H2; the blue screen looked something like the “Let’s finish setting up your device” screen depicted in this tutorial [Turn On or Off Get even more out of Windows Suggestions in Windows 10], though I do not remember what the screen’s title actually said. I clicked “Skip for now” in the lower left, expecting to be taken to the desktop immediately.

Instead, after I clicked “Skip for now”, the blue background remained and some sort of surprise additional text appeared. What little I remember is that the additional text may have included the word “sorry” (though perhaps I imagined that?), and had some sort of brief guidance about where to find backup options within Windows. After I too-quickly acknowledged the text, I was then taken to the desktop.

Has anyone encountered this additional, post-“Skip for now” text, and if so, do you happen to recall the gist of the message? I usually prefer to read unexpected Windows messages carefully, so I am feeling rather silly about this caper. Thank you.
