What are people's thoughts on Tiny10 and such for home server use?

I was using an older gaming laptop as a streaming server with ubuntu, but I'm finding that Linux is beyond my capacity to learn at this time so I'll be switching it to Windows. I ahve a 10 pro license, but I was wondering if there is any benefit to trying to "shrink" the OS using tools such as Tiny10, as it will not be used as a desktop computer and only occasionally remoted in to tweak things.

Oh boy, I bet you are going to get some highly varied opinions on this!

    Here is my own take:

I'm always a little leery about tools that cut down Windows. However, if you have an especially low-end system, maybe something really old with a very slow CPU, small amount of RAM (say 4GB), and very limited storage space, this might be something to consider.

However, if you have a system that doesn't have difficulties running Windows 10 "as-is", then my preference would be to go that way.

Ultimately, it might be something that you simply want to experiment with. Try a standard Windows 10 install and see how it works for you. Make a disk image backup so you can get back to that point easily. Then try the cut down version and see if that really makes an appreciable difference for you.
