Persistent Popups - System Alert - Best Tool to Remove?

    I am running

    22H2 (OS Build 19045.3086)

Please advise if this is not fully up-to-date.

Last night I stumbled into the following address:

    ztreewin2.rssing.com

The visit has triggered popups stating that

    Microsoft Security Client
An error has occurred in the program during initialization. If this problem continues, please contact your system administrator.
    Error cods:0x80070426

    followed by
    Google Chrome
    Your info has been leaked
Click to protect your credit card info

This looks like a miserable rabbit warren to wander into.

Has anyone good advice to offer?

I'm troubled because ZTreeWin, a tool I depend upon, has had its name misused.

    thanks
    baumgrenze

Nothing to remove. They are push notications which you must have allowed or been tricked into allowing.

How to stop ad popups in Chrome

Just follow the instructions in the links to remove them.

Chrome: copy and paste into the address bar:

    chrome://settings/content/notifications

Press enter. Turn off or block / remove anything you don't need.

It's likely that you clicked on

    Then forgot about it.

Error 0x80070426 message text means: The service has not been started.

Except if that message appears in a dodgy push notification. I think that's what happened and displayed Error 0x80070426 message but it's not clear.

    Thank You Both

Thank you both for a quick and informative response.

I changed the notification status for 'rsssing' and the notices 'disappeared' to my relief.

I'm glad it was easily resolved. At 83 it was easy for me to miss the opt out notice; my vision is dodgy but appears to be improving after a 'minor stroke' during an aortic valve replacement.

    Thanks again

Even though you stopped the notifications, you may still have the app on your computer.
You have installed a Chrome Extension that is trying to run.
Go to the 3 dots and upper right toolbar. Select Extensions. Disable or Remove any Extensions you do not use or want.
