Monitor will not wake after Monitor turn off
Using Win 10 Pro Version 22H22 Build 19045.3208
For many years, I have had the computer set to shut down the screen after 45 minutes of inactivity. Sleep has been set to "Never". Given these settings, the monitor did shut down but any mouse activity or keyboard input would bring the monitor back to life.
In the last month, the monitor shuts down as expected but about half the time neither mouse movement or keyboard input will being the monitor back to life. I haven't timed it but I suspect that the longer the monitor is shut down, the more likely that it can't be brought back to life.
During the blackout, the keyboard is still responsive because a right sequence of keys will do a normal computer shut down.
Once the computer is rebooted, all seems normal but the problem will recur.
I've searched extensively and here's what I've done so far:
- Implemented all the suggested fixes in the following link:
[SOLVED] Computer Won't Wake Up From Sleep Windows 11/10 - Driver Easy
- In device manager/mouse properties/power management, "Allow the computer to turn off..." is unchecked. "Allow this device to wake...." is checked.
- the keyboard in device manager has the same settings.
- In device manager/Human Interface Devices/Power Management, for every device "Allow the computer to turn off..." is unchecked. "Allow this device to wake...." is grey.
- I've checked the mouse, keyboard and monitor divers any they are all current.
I haven't added or removed any programs just before this started to happen. The only Windows changes have been the normal bi-weekly Windows updates.
All Windows updates are installed.
I'm at a loss. Does anyone have suggestions?
