Oops thought you had nvidia graphics. Same principal. Uninstall the amd and the catylist thing. Go to device manager and right click on the display driver choose uninstall place a check to completely remove if available. Then go thru the same process for the auto driver update and disable it then reboot. Get display graphics drivers from dell not amd. Then see if that works. Beyond the trouble shooting steps and this I'm at a loss. Other than reinstall the bios

Wanted to give you all an update on my mess of a PC..the technician came today and replaced the motherboard, now the BAD NEWS..the product key for windows 10 is no longer valid and this was from a legit windows 8.1 to windows 10..so now it keeps on saying I need to activate windows 10 that its no longer activated, I call Dell, of course they are ZERO help, they tell me to do a clean install of windows 8.1 then upgrade to windows 10 and it will be activated I dont know what to do I Really dont want to do that and NO ONE told me that by replacing the motherboard that this would happen

You should call Microsoft and tell them what happened - you had the motherboard replaced (I assume the exact same model motherboard, i.e, an IN-KIND repair replacement). As I understand it, they should accommodate you as long as you are polite about it. Their activation server probably sees this as a completely other machine versus the one you activated on and the phone call should be able to resolve it.

I had to do this when I upgraded the CPU on an old Dell OptiPlex and I had an XP upgrade license that lost activation of that key and it worked out OK. It was like some kind of telephone legal deposition / testimony in tone but they got me fixed up.

Where the motherboard was replaced it has a different oem product key embedded that's why 10 lost its activation. What dell suggested is the easiest course to take. Backup all your third party setup files backup your data then reinstall but now that I think about it. Your oem key in the windows 8.1 won't match either. So maybe callin Microsoft would be best. Or call the activation by phone routine and see if that works

Found a source online to open control panel then system and security then system. At the bottom it'll say windows is not activated. Click view details in windows activation. If you call it'll be an automated system. Tell it the numbers in the sequence and it'll give you a set to put in. They said it should work that way
