Chkdsk /r returns OK on both 2 TB. SLI disabled did not affect explorer behavior.

Have you tried Auslogic Driver Updater I use it all the time have even found drivers when told their was not any when my laptop went from 8.1 to 10 it even put new driver in for graphic card and touch pad which I was have trouble with on 8.1 since then laptop does nt hang or freeze at all.
think they do a free version or a 30 day trial
Are you using Edge or IE11 as I found 11 played up so uninstalled it completely and Edge is far better

No haven't tried. I have bad experience from similar programs, they mess up more than "do good". Have never had explorer.exe probs with same setup in W8.1, is it really a driver problem? My friend have the same problem after upgrading to W10 and a different setup, can also relate to W10?! But can give Auslogic a try. Have 10 different backups, can experiment with the system. I use mostly Firefox or Edge. Not IE11.
EDIT: Some insight on driver update programs. Never Download a Driver-Updating Utility; Theyre Worse Than Useless
Tried with Auslogic and the same as in the article. Found some USB drivers that are from y 2006, LOL. Have a fresh install. Don't buy that info. The scan also found Intel obsolete drivers. Strange that Intel update utility did not find these, so I don't trust these programs.
Anyway no hangs yet after yesterday, but waiting---

How did you uninstall Norton ? Did you use their Uninstaller or from Programs and Features ?
2nd day without problems. Tried cold boot for 15 times, OK. Read about Nortons problems with fast startup. Should be disabled, had it enabled. Doesn't matter if fast startup is disabled or enabled, boots fast anyway. Let's see if Norton was the cause. Can't live without Norton though. Have to find a solution if it's causing the hiccups.
Hi there!
3rd day: I suffered the same explorer hang on my laptop yesterday with same programs except Acronis. It's also a clean install of W10-Pro x 64 and from different installation media. Norton and Office 2013 are on both, but removed Norton from my desktop 3 days ago, no probs since. It's too early to tell but it seems Norton is the cause. Why it did not hang on W10 updated versions from W8.1, don't know. I'm beginning to think Norton causes these issues. My desktop works OK for the 3rd day. Had over 20 boots yesterday. Other symptoms when explorer hangs. WU doesn't work, gets in loop and don't finish. Search function in taskbar doesn't work.
Disabled fastboot (interferes with N loading) and installed Norton again. Seems to be the reason for the hangs. Have to follow one week. No probs with Norton uninstalled either.
Seems to be solved. Thanks to all sharing information / reaching out!
