Hi guys, thanks for advice. Difficult to troubleshoot. Tried 10 cold boots, and only on one occasion explorer hang occurred. If rebooted, no "hang". Try to disable 3rd party extensions next time it hangs to see if it resolves the issue.

Hmm. Very weird indeed. Beginning to think it's a driver that's perhaps not loading correctly all the time. Did you look at DISM and scannow logs by any chance? How about System Events logs? Anything there?
No, can't interpret CBS.log files. No information from event logs other than explorer.exe application hang ID. Working again, no errors. Try to remember next time when the problem is on to check 3rd party context menu items and disable them to see if it makes any difference.

OK. Did you try topgundcp's method at all or waiting on that? I tend to think he's correct in that it's 3rd party as you mentioned as well.

Is this RTM build 10240 upgrade you have? No fresh install as of yet?

It's getting weirder. Now have something like this at start (random), text missing. This also goes away with reboot (no explorer.exe hang). The hang may not have anything to do with this. Have experienced the same with notifications a few times. Don't know if it's a display problem or something is not refreshing etc. Anyway it's also random. Have a feeling maybe there r some bugs in W10. One other point- had the mouse issue right after fresh install, maybe it's not a 3rd party driver (equally experienced explorer.exe hang on the upgraded W10 version). No probs with W8.1 (hang related). Had not updated the installation when got the mouse hang after fresh install.
SFC /Scannow and DISM returns OK. Nothing special in event logs. Have tried installation from two different media installation tool created installation medias.

By "text missing" do you mean the group titles on your Start menu? Missing tiles also?

This is a newer machine, yes? We might not want to discount hardware problems.

Chkdsk (Check disk) is automatic in 10, but you may want to run that once.

Too many things are causing problems with explorer.exe. Maybe it's really not those things that are basically at fault, but a too fragile explorer.exe. If it was sufficiently robust, it couldn't be brought to its knees so readily.

Hi there. Are you having problems with Explorer as well? If so, what are your symptoms?

I really can't comment on build 10240 for I'm an Insider on build 10532. It does take a while for a context menu to open in it. It's not immediate, but that may be the build.

Yes, group titles and some tiles. But, as said OK with reboot. My W10 is not an insider version, it's the 1st release build (something has updated though, the last digits) as you surely know. Gonna run chkdsk.

New info. Explorer.exe jammed today, but was unable to run shellview application, it also hanged. Can't kill it either. Opens (ctrl+alt+del), click on task manager and nothing happens! Can't analyze anything, really weird. And this is third installment of W10 with the mouse hang/explorer problem, tried also another mouse. Nothing new with chkdesk. Disconnected the mouse but no difference. Beginning to feel a little bit frustrated. I know if fresh installs, the same happens. Would put insider version but it's my everyday PC so don't want to risk it. The desktop applications are locked to launch, but taskbar icons work/launches. Event logs not working when hang is on. Browsers works. Additionally: can access file explorer from start, file explorer and there the mouse works OK on files but not on folders, no hang.
