Classic Shell is boss, but are you REALLY going from Windows 8 Classic Shell>Win 10 Classic Shell =)? You woulden't be able to tell the 2 OSES apart!

I would assume that windows 10 classic shell will have live tiles in the start menu which i don't think they can do in windows 8 can they?

Haha, are you implying that people updated to Windows 10 just to see Classic Shell 10 :)?

Side bar seems neat, since you can dragdrop anything you want there.

I certainly hope that's not how final version of Windows 10 will look like. I'm not a fan of these small upgrades, such as Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 and 8.1.1 or whatever and then having people call it 'the new OS'. Remember the good ol' times when changing OS felt great, everything looked different, including Windows installation? I want those times back more than anything. I don't want to spend a ton of cash on a new OS just to get new themes and functions I don't need.

Well WIn7>Win10 upgrade is only $30 so prices went down at least.

Also, didn't 95/98/98SE/ME/2000 all look similar?

I like it better than its predecessor. I should of created a local account like my other 8.1 machines. No biggie, its a VM install.

    Hi there

I've also posted on the Virtualisation section - but will add here as some people don't read the virtualisation section.

Using a WINDOWS HOST (8.1 x-64) I've been unable to install VMWARE TOOLS using VMware workstation 10.0.3 so as a VM I can't get decent video or sensible mouse motion.

    On a LINUX Host it's OK ?????!!!

    Cheers

LOL. Keep your wallet closed and watch this space.. I have been fumbling with it for a day now.

I am beginning to think this is a question of "the quickness of the (programmers) hand decieves the eye"

Two major complaints (which I did not support) were the absence of a start menu and windowing. These two problems have been addressed in windows X.
Apart from that? I am looking at Windows 8, Update 3. (Or should we call it October update - lol again)

Yeah, even MS knows that everything after 7 could've been Service Packs, which is why Win8 had a $15 upgrade and Win10 will have a $30 one.

I even heard a rumor that it'll be a free upgrade for Win8 users. Doubt it, but that would be kinda neat I guess.
