Sleep is missing everywhere and settings are managed by system adminis

For the battery/power configuration, the Sleep option is missing everywhere on my Surface Pro 4 machine. I have applied the EsEnabled package downloaded from Silichip-X in YouTube. But the problem is still here. And also I cannot change the System Settings of Power Options because it asks for administrator but my account is Administrator account. The machine is my personal machine. I have tried many different ways by some methods from online. The issue is still here. I hope experts here can help me. There are some screenshots which will say everything.

The first step is to find out what power/sleep states are available in your computer.
    Run this in any cmd or PS window {you can right-click on the Start button & select Windows PowerShell}
    Code:
    PowerCfg -a
and post the results {you can press your mouse button and move your cursor over all the text to select it then press Ctrl-C to copy it then add a new post & press ctrl-v to post it in this thread}.

This data is essential for useful responses to be given.

    All the best,

Your PowerCFg results conform to no pattern I have seen unless attempts have been made to alter the available power states.
    - I had the same results on a computer that originally supported S0 Low Power Idle [aka S0 Modern standby] but on which I had attempted to disable S0 in the forlorn hope that it would enable S3 Sleep [S3 Sleep being what most people routinely refer to as "Sleep"]
    - Have you done any such thing?
    - You can check if this has been done by looking up [without changing anything] the relevant Registry setting shown in Option 1 of
Disable Modern Standby in Windows 10 and 11 - ElevenForumTutorials
and I can talk you through checking it if you are not familiar with browsing the Registry.

By the way, you would need to set up hibernating upon lid close using the first of your diagrams but I suggest you leave that until you have resolved the power/sleep states issue.
    - Some computers designed to use S0 Modern standby do not allow all the possible options in that diagram.
    - In that first diagram, you need to click on Change settings that are currently unavailable then give Admin permission to proceed before you will see any ability to alter the settings there.

yes, the #2 diagram is the result of clicking on the Change settings that are currently unavailable on #1 diagram. then I stuck there. I am using the Administrator account but the machine does agree with this.

OK, once we have established the original state of power/sleep settings, I will suggest starting a new thread on that specific topic. I will advise you to include the model of your computer in your question title so you get repsonses from other users of that model because only they will know its particular characteristics.

OK. Now I understand what has happened.

You have disabled S0 in the forlorn hope of getting back S3 just as I did.
Your initial comments also referred to a CsEnabled Registry change you got from YouTube. That was only valid until about Windows 10 Version 1903.
    - What Windows 10 Version are you one? You can run the command WinVer in a cmd or PS window to find out and post.
    - I can dig out my old notes to check how to remove that change so that you are in a standard state before going any further.
    - I am concerned about "EsEnabled package" What's in the "package"? What exactly did you download? If you still have it then post it so I can check what's in it. You might have to zip it up to be able to post it here.

You have a decision to make. You can live with just using hibernate or you can re-enable S0.
    - I regard S0 as a curse.
    - In S0, progressively tighter controls are put on power consumption in order to make the battery last longer but not so long that it lasts all day.
    - S0 kicks in as soon as your monitor turns off but I cannot see a setting for that in your diagrams - its timing would normally be shown as an additional item in that first diagram of yours.

With your current power settings, does your monitor stay on the whole time? I haven't seen a version of your first diagram in which that choice is not shown.

I'm about to go offline to have my dinner. I'll be back tomorrow.

    All the best,
    Denis

oldyoungguy how long have you had this Surface? Did you ever have Sleep option? If so, did this issue start after a recent update?
May/may not help- I have an older HP which lost it's Sleep option after the Display driver updated. Problem disappeared after I rolled it back and hasn't reappeared since I blocked driver updates to AMD Display.

I'll leave you in Denis' capable hands for sorting this out.

But if you do enable S0, I have a few tips for taming it. Took me a while to get my first Modern Standby machine to work as I like all my other machines to, to sleep when I close the lid then hibernate after 20 minutes if I don't return to it. I explained how I did that in post #9 here.

How to disable Modern Standby? I want regular Sleep again! | Windows 11 Forum

Don't be put off by me running Windows 11 on this machine, all the tutorials I used to achieve my aims can be found on Ten Forums.
