Folders missing on storage drive when powered on 16 December yesterday

winver 20H2 Win 10 Pro
Laptop with 3 hard drives, suddenly almost all of the data on storage Intel D drive is missing.
Capacity 447 GB probably had 200 to 300 GB of data missing, leaving only 7 GB of new data which I possibly inserted before realizing everything else was missing.
I can find nothing wrong in system information or device manager. The C:\ SanDisk and E:\ HGST are unaffected. sysinfo32
and PC manage concur, only 7 GB left.
I would greatly appreciate assistance.

Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
chkdsk X: /f (replace X with the Intel drive letter)
It will say your disk is in use and ask if you want to unmount it = yes
Pay attention on the results, specially bad blocks, bad clusters, bad sectors etc

Please post a disk manager image (full window and expanded columns so we can read them)

I could never get Paint to save the image in the full screen size where I clicked save. I spent over 2 hours trying (and happily learned a lot) and noticed many people on Internet also had problems with image size in Paint. I think the image pasted in the Word docs will give you what you want.
All check disk runs of both C and D hard drives are negative. Details are in the check disk D: docx.

Expand the to full window and capture the image with Snipping tool. Then Edit - Copy (Ctrl+C)
Paste (Ctrl+V) on the Quick replay window.

Check Disk found no problems. Somehow the files were deleted.
You can try Recuva As it isn't a OS drive the chances you recover a big number of files are good.

The Pro Recuva did the same as the free ---- that is nothing. Even though the drive was working, I knew I could never it so I went ahead and installed an Evo 970 Samsung. I'm proud to say that it is working.
I appreciate the advice you've given me. I particularly appreciate your responsiveness. I've learned a lot. Hope I never have to use it again

No matter the size of a drive you should periodically do a backup. All drives, HDD or SSD, one day will fail.
