Wake Up Task won't work if PC put into sleep mode manually

Many times I use a keyboard shortcut I made to manually put my PC to sleep if I know I'm done with it for the day. The CMD embedded in the shortcut is the popular:
    Code:
    C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState sleep.
It works, no problem. The thing is I have a task scheduled to wake my PC every morning at 4:30. But the only time this task seems to work is when the PC went into sleep mode automatically or via the Start Menu option. If I use the keyboard shortcut to put it to sleep the wake up task doesn't work the next morning. Some have suggested that the code in that keyboard command puts the PC in hibernate mode even though it clearly says "sleep" but I have hibernate mode disabled.

    Any clues...?
Windows 10 is up to date.

What issue were you getting before changing the sleep timer?

I use an alternative shortcut and my computer wakes after using it.
    - I downloaded NirSoft's NirCmd
    - I created the shortcut
    CorrectPathToWhereIHadStoredIt\NirCmd.exe standby

    All the best,

This will work for me. I didn't want to have to install anything just for this purpose but NirCmd is small, requires no installation, and can execute many other commands from what I see. Thanks Denis!

    Glad to have helped.

NirSoft utilities tend to accumulate. I've now got 27 of them.

I put all portable apps & my own scripts in a folder for which I have mimicked the Permissions used for the C:\Program files folder.
Set up my Tools folder ditty - TenForums
You do not have to do this but I like the reassurance of knowing that my various tools are decently protected from malicious action.

    All the best,

Ha, I can see how easy it would be to accumulate so many. Looking through what they have available, it's tempting.
